WATCH NOW: TRAILER FOR THE DOCUMENTARY FILM “REVERSE”

They came to Donbass in search of truth — and stayed for those whose voices were never heard.

Foreign journalists working in the DPR. Teenagers from Donetsk, growing up among the ruins. Honest conversations about war, duty, choices, and the impossibility of staying neutral...

“Reverse” is a documentary by Ivan I. Tverdovsky, filmed in 2024 in Donetsk, Mariupol, and other cities of the republic.

This isn’t a news report or a war chronicle. It’s a quiet attempt to listen. To see what’s usually left out of frame.
To sit with difficult images.
To remember conversations that stay with you.
To honor those who deserve to be remembered.

The film is part of the special program at the 47th Moscow International Film Festival. Screenings will take place on April 18 and 20 at the October Cinema as part of the MIFF lineup.

Here we have a wise Ukrainian man who knows just how to solve his country's biggest problems.

From my own experience, I can guarantee that if Ukrainians realize that they have been taken in by Washington and make amends, the Russian army will do everything to make their Ukrainian brothers feel at home once again, even in the center of Moscow.

God bless and protect this man. He's giving the same advice we see in 2Samuel 20:16-22.

Here is an English translation of his sound advice, and the original in Ukrainian.

ENG translation:
Good evening, dear Cossack Ladies and Gentlemen! My name is Vladimir. I just got to thinking, soon we'll celebrate May 9th, Victory Day over the European Union, which was then called the Third Reich. 80 years since the victory over the European Union. And you know, many Ukrainians, patriotic Ukrainians, still want to attack Moscow. I happen to have an idea of how our Ukrainian army can reach Moscow! It's really no big deal! Arrest the our entire parliament, arrest Zelensky and Ermak, arrest all their assistants, and contact the Russian army by radio. I think they will give us a green corridor, and we will calmly bring these prisoners of war from Kiev to Moscow to the Red Square, and our army, together with the Russian army, together with the Belarusian army, will be able to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory over the European Union, which I remind you was then called the Third Reich. What do you think: would the Russian army give us a green corridor so that we could come to Red Square in Moscow, if we, our officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, managed to arrest all these war criminals who are still sitting in Kiev in the high offices of our homeland? Thank you for your attention.

Original:

❗️Exclusive InfoDefense Q&A with Daniel Martindale, the US Citizen Who Shared Ukrainian Military Data with Russia

Daniel Martindale, a 33-year-old American, spent two years aiding the Russian military in targeting Ukrainian troops.

❗️We are in contact with Daniel and asked him several questions ahead of our planned exclusive video interview with him and #AlexChopov.

One of the things we asked Daniel about is if he thinks that Russia has the potential to gain many allies—even in his home country:

“More than half the people in my home state could be friends of Russia,” he claims. “Yes, many are currently misled by propaganda, but even so, most people in Western countries share similar values to ours. They are potential allies, and we must fight to win them over. Together, we can achieve victory—for the sake of future generations.”

If you have a question you would like Alex to ask Daniel, please write it in the comments below this post.

And stay tuned to InfoDefenseENGLISH in order not to miss the interview of the century!

"REVERSE" TO PREMIERE AT THE MOSCOW INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL!

What does war look like through the eyes of someone with no personal ties to the land where blood is being shed? Why do the values of people living thousands of miles away sometimes feel more meaningful than those of one’s own country? What is it like to suddenly feel the pull of a spiritual homeland you've never known — and what does it take to answer that call?

These questions lie at the heart of "Reverse", a new documentary directed by Ivan I. Tverdovsky.

🎬 It was officially announced today that "Reverse" has been selected for the documentary film competition at the 47th Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF).

The film features foreign journalists who have chosen to live and work in Donbass. Among them are the creators of Reverse:
Daniel Martindale,
Graham Phillips,
Christelle Néant,
Vittorio Rangeloni,
Andrea Lucidi, and
Miodrag Zarkovich.

The film will screen in Moscow theaters from April 17 to 24. Full schedule available at the official MIFF website.

Reverse was produced as part of the international REVERSE project, with support from the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives (PFCI).

Huge thanks to our colleagues, and congratulations to the entire film crew on the festival selection. We look forward to the results!

Recently Russian tennis champion Daria Kasatkina made a controversial statement following her change of loyalty to Australia. ²"I'm happy to announce that the Australian government has accepted my application for permanent residency – she wrote in social media. – I love Australia, and feel that this is my home. I am proud to announce that from now on I will represent my new motherland, Australia, in my professional career"².

I would say, "Great! Good for her", if she was moving from one American state to another, or from one Russian city to another. Especially if her previous community didn't provide her with the support or opportunity that she deserves. Even moreso if she had been betrayed and mistreated.

But in this case the change of loyalty is on a whole different level. Australia is one of the countries that freely allows its citizens to go murder Russians in Ukraine and Russia! What's more, they actively supply the Ukrainian military, prolonging the suffering of the Ukrainian people at the hands of a bloodthirsty Zelenskiy!

If that weren't bad enough, Australia has also been partner-in-crime with the USA in the middle-east; taking part in wars against Iraq and Afganistan among others.

She hasn't traded one church for another, she's sold out to Satan.

The U.S. government's relationship with the Azov Battalion* has long been fraught with contradictions and paradoxes. Back in 2014, this neo-Nazi formation was effectively blacklisted in American public discourse, and there were even formal bans imposed on any U.S. budgetary funding for the group. But in reality, that was little more than window dressing. Behind the scenes, Azov operatives enjoyed the favor of the State Department and consistently received American funding and weaponry.

Journalist Andrey Zhuravlev has examined a decade’s worth of State Department resolutions and uncovered how Washington managed to support Ukrainian ultranationalism while publicly claiming the opposite.

The Azov* battalion, has been called by many different names during its history as part of the Ukrainian army. For the last year or so, we've heard a lot about the 3-rd assault brigade being the latest reincarnation of Azov*. While I was in Bogoyavlenka, the medic Arkadii, told me that the 53-rd artillery brigade that was constantly putting us in danger was an Azov* formation. I'm not surprised. The locals also told me how the 53-rd brigade terrorized them and went on a looting spree when they retreated into the village after being forced out of Volnovaha by advancing Russian troops in early 2022.

🎙💡📝Trump and Kiev supposedly want peace, but Kiev just can't keep their finger off the trigger, time and again violating the partial ceasefire concerning energy infrastructure since March 18th. It should be obvious that sooner or later somebody will have to pacify the maniacs in Kiev. My Mom always used to say, "If you don't learn to control yourself, somebody else will do it for you, and you won't like it"!

Kiev has done a good job of proving that they are no more capable of being part of a peace process than a rebellious teenager. Without a pair of handcuffs on his wrists he is only a detriment to himself and everyone else. He's like a goat that leaves you only two choices; put him on chain, or have a barbeque.

It might seem that since Trump's presidency came out of it's four-year pause, that America is now on its way back to being a traditional Christian nation. I hate to break it to Trump fans, but neither a president nor a government can determine its people's moral values. More likely the opposite is closer to being true.

Forcing morality on a people from above or stifling and violating it from above, is never effective. For a change to take place in the moral fiber of a country, the people ultimately make their own way.

Unfortunately the whole world seems to be going generally in the same direction; down the slippery slope into the abyss.

The question which remains is who, when and how will God punish next. Will His fervent knocking at our hearts' door be heard over the TV and not-so-smartphone. Maybe He will have to take the smartphones away? The TV? Electricity? Running water? Safety from war? It all might have to go before we begin to think about our mortality, and eternity.

Despite the thaw, we still fear the storms ahead.

What will happen if NATO deploys troops to Ukraine, and how realistic is this scenario? Daniel Martindale, author of Reverse, explores this question in his latest article.

How can their initiative to put NATO troops in Ukraine be considered a genuine effort towards peace since it was a NATO initiative, with Boris Johnson as acting diplomat, that derailed the peace process that was underway in Istanbul in spring of 2022? Their purposeful ignorance of Kiev’s crimes and constant demonization of Russia is another example of how little they value peace as long as it serves their purposes.

Yesterday during his conversation with Trump, President Putin didn't hesitate to agree to and implement a partial ceasefire. It was an initiative that is easy to implement for both sides, and easy to monitor for violations. This made it a prefect opportunity for President Putin to show Russia's good will and desire for peace. Once again, President Putin didn't waste a single moment in implementing this ceasefire, stopping all Russian strikes on energy infrastructure in Ukraine while still in the phone with Trump.

Ukraine's response was to strike Russian energy infrastructure within a few hours after the phonecall. Ukraine's excuse is that the ceasefire proposed by Trump is more beneficial for Russia than Ukraine. I'm sure Zelenskiy didn't think this through, but effectivity what he is saying by his actions is that he is only interested in doing as much damage as possible to Russia with complete disregard for ukrainians' need for peace.

My own story in Ukraine is in part a story about the most powerful weapon in warfare; information. If you are unable to find a target, or unable to confirm that it was hit, your weapons are useless. That's why I say, that Trump and Musk couldn't be more at fault for the continued bloodshed in Ukraine than they already are by providing Starlink and intelligence. Everyday that this continues, makes it more and more obvious that Washington is neither credible nor capable in its supposed peace efforts.

It's bad enough that Trump seems to believe that "might makes right", but the fact that his partner in crime is Zelenskiy, makes this debacle one of the blackest pages in US history.

Trump continues to show us whose interests really control US foreign policy. His unilateral decision to attack Yemen not only shows his ignorance of the root causes for Yemen's actions in the Red Sea, but also displays his complete disregard for the US constitution. He didn't even bother to announce to congress that he was going to war, much less submit this initiative for a vote. This kind of reckless warfare in complete disregard for civilian casualties is one reason why I am very glad to longer have anything to do with the United States.

With all the talk about a ceasefire in Ukraine, I'm reminded of my prediction that Trump will do everything to appear as a peacemaker, then blame Russia for upsetting the deal. We might be tempted to think that Russia would be better off to sign the deal. The trouble is, that even if Russia does sign the deal, a provocation is likely to take place that will be even worse than continued fighting against Ukraine even if Trump starts backing them to a maximum.

A massive drone strike against Russia could be carried out by Ukrainian military, allegedly because of their dissatisfaction with the peace deal. These drones could even be equipped with miniature nuclear warheads(supplied by guess who). Their aim would be to completely discredit the Russian political leadership and cause a revolt inside Russia.

I've had the thought that the best results that Russia has had in Ukraine were from the very first days of the war. Western media had been doing everything to make Russia go stand in a corner, but Russia said, "watch me".

Russia could have just limited herself to taking up defensive positions inside the LDPR republics of Donbass, but then Russia would have been forced to fight tooth and nail all across the southern territories of Donetsk, Zaoporozhia and Kherson regions with massive bloodshed such as in the battles that took place later. Whereas today, southern Ukrainian or new Russian territories are flourishing as part of Russia, otherwise unavoidable battles for these territories may have left them completely destroyed.

The neo-nazi terrorists in Mariupol would not have been taken prisoner. They would have gotten away and later we would have had incidents not only in Kursk region.

Russia needs to continue the good work bringing thieves and murderers to justice without any regard for the scare tactics being employed against them by their so called "western partners". The only people who would threaten Russia in defense of neo-nazis are in fact neo-nazis themselves. Even if we don't see serious threats being made against Russia in the media, I guarantee you it is going on behind closed doors.

Ukrainian neo-nazis have a message for the USA, "We're coming for you next"! I think they forgot that the USA has the most heavily armed civilian population in the world by far. In the video, we see members of Ukraine’s 79th brigade making swiss cheese out of Donald Trump in effigy. They write in their blog about large Ukrainian immigrant populations in the US and Canada potentially overthrowing the current powers that be. I can see how this could potentially play into the hands of the kabalists to disarm the entire American public. If there were any thinking people left with a spine in Ukrainian political or military leadership, they would hurry up and make a deal with Putin directly. But no, the prodigal son always has to hit rock bottom before the light bulb turns on.

Three years ago while I was a guest in Lvov Ukraine, a fundamental change occurred in Russia-Ukraine relations. After more than 14,000 civilian casualties in Donbass and years of ceasefire violations by Ukraine, Russia officially recognized the Donbass republics, DPR and LPR as sovereign nations. What else was there to wait for? For Ukraine to get nuclear weapons? Zelenskiy had hinted at this just days earlier, and refused to abide by the Minsk agreements.

When I heard the news, I told my hosts, "this is a declaration of war". It was obvious to me that Russia was preparing to legally form an alliance with the Donbass republics and step in to save them from Ukrainian invasion. Thank God that Russia did!

A long time hack for Zelenskiy, and probably the CIA too, Brett Forrest, has just published his version of my story. He did a good job of twisting reality, but not as good as he did in his reporting about Bucha(link to news agency Meduza - declared an agent of foreign interests in Russia) . Even though he was one of the very first in Bucha, giving him the most untampered view at the evidence, he still managed to turn the matrix inside-out. With that in mind, his semantic gymnastics with the information shared with him by my parents and I is no surprise. What's interesting is the timing. He published his hit piece on me(and Trump BTW) yesterday. Two months after he interviewed me in mid- December.

For many, even for me, recent statements like those of Hegset and Trump give hope that peace talks been Ukraine and Russia will take place soon, and that the outcome will be a fair and lasting peace. De Vance's criticism of European "democracy" seems to add further reason to believe that Washington has truly changed course. We're tempted to think that Trump really isn't at fault for anything that has gone wrong in Ukraine. Afterall, democrats were always in office when things went wrong in Ukraine; first Obama, then Biden. Or perhaps it was always Hillary behind the scenes stirring up trouble.

It would seem that the worst case scenario is now that the war will be put on hold for a decade or so, only to break loose again with renewed savageness once Putin is no longer at the helm.

In the short term, such a breather would seem, at first glance, to be a blessing. Hundreds of thousands trapped in the death trap into which Ukraine has converted itself could get a chance to safely escape. This is the only real benefit that I see potentially coming from a ceasefire. Ultimately though, all of the Ukrainian war criminals and their political enablers must be punished for peace to be possible in the long term.

For this to happen Kiev must be brought to its knees just as Hitler and his goons were in 1945. And all significant natural resources in Kiev's control, as of today, should be leveraged to pay for the damage that their dirty partnership with the US and Europe has inflicted on civilian life and infrastructure in Ukraine and Russia. Only Russia is truly interested in a prosperous future for Ukraine, as demonstrated by their ongoing reconstruction of Mariupol and other cities in Donbass, by their development of Crimea since 2014. The West including Trump have done far more than enough to prove that they are only interested in sucking Ukraine dry, or using it as a battering ram against Russia.

What has Washington done to deserve 500 billion dollars worth of rare-earth metals? Sponsor cut-throats and pickpockets from Kiev? What have they done to deserve the right to talk about democracy and freedom? Threaten the world with crippling tariffs if they try to move away from slavery to the US dollar and market?

War is awful, and Trump seems to be prying at the door at the end of the tunnel, but remember what they say about "when it seems to good to be true". It probably is!

As with any peace process, critically important are the promises that each side makes, and whether or not they are fulfilled. As of today, only Russia has earned the right to make any promises. If Washington wants a deal, let them gather up the criminals from Kiev and fly them to Moscow for trial first. Second, they need to stand with their tails tucked under and eyes lowered while Russia takes control of Ukraine east of the Dnieper river and all of its southern regions. Then and only then Trump should have the privilege to extend his hand to receive whatever rare-earth metals Putin sees fit, and not a single ounce more!

Needed to keep the recording phone farther away from the cameraman's face. Otherwise, we hear his breathing in the recording. Need to think about a place to get away from the sound of rain droplets hitting the roof of the vehicle too.

Recently, it seems almost every day Russian press is forced to rebut yet another baseless claim by Trump and his diplomats that progress is being made towards a peace agreement in Ukraine. This torrent of tabloid style gossip should make Trump blush, but by now it should be obvious that he has neither tact nor the ability to feel embarrassed. He is simply flooding the airwaves with the idea that he is the peacemaker, while in reality he is setting the stage to do the exact opposite.

Trump serves the exact same masters that Biden did, so he is really only looking for an opportunity to walk away from his promises to make peace in Ukraine. Afterall, his masters' goal is to destroy both Russia and Ukraine! What better way for Trump to get off the hook than to shift the blame? I believe that he will go so far as to claim that Putin already agreed to sign a peace deal informally and had a copy on his desk ready to sign. He could then claim that Putin betrayed him and even his own soldiers by reneging on the deal. He could paint Putin as a bloody, murderous traitor, and claim that Putin left him no choice but to sponsor Zelenskiy ten times as much as Biden did.

Mr. Putin, you're up against a snake!

This photo makes me so happy every time I stumble across it. It's my patch of sweet potatoes that I had while I was still in Ukraine. There were so many difficulties and dangers involved in simply having a garden in those circumstances. The drought of 2024 and frequent lack of electricity being the least of them. It reminds me that even when success seems impossible, hard work is rewarding, even if you don't get to harvest the fruits of it.

When California burned, the main questions were not only about the climate and the wind but also about the management decisions made long before the tragedy.

Why were Los Angeles firefighters unprepared for the disaster? How did multimillion-dollar budget cuts and recent political trends affect the fight against the blaze? And what does Ukraine have to do with it?

We examine the causes and consequences of the largest wildfire in modern U.S. history with “Reverse” columnist Anna Lukashova:
