(Queen) Dawn is a daughter of Chrysalis and Celestia. She is a product of arranged political marriage. In order for Equestria and The Changeling Kingdom to have a brighter and more peaceful future, Queen Chrysalis and Princess Celestia signed a truce during their wedding ceremony. Now both Equestria and The Changeling Kingdom are united under the rule of the Royal family. To form an even stronger union, the Queens created an heir from magic. However, things can and will go wrong when creating a child without any love between the parents...

Since the very young age, Dawn has been facing an immense amount of pressure to be the perfect future ruler. The Queens, using an ancient and very complicated spell, designed Dawn the way they wanted her to be – less changeling-like and more visually appealing. A ruler has to look welcoming, strong and confident. And is supposed to act accordingly.

Such a shame that Dawn's mothers forgot that she is not only a political tool, but a living being too.
