PROJECTOR 42: Hungarian Perspective
explore

Hungarian graphic design has strong roots in fine art, with poster-making standing out for its refined techniques and craftsmanship. A defining chapter in its history emerged between the World Wars, when theatre and film posters flourished, shaping a distinctive visual language. Throughout the 20th century, Hungarian designers engaged with political and social themes, creating works that capture the era’s turbulence and transformation.

The edition features works by István Orosz, István Horkay, Péter Bence Simon, Dóra Keresztes, László Nagy, Anna Korolovszky, József Árendás, Dóra Balla, Kata Káldor, and Andrej Tóth.

Join us for the official presentation of the issue on February 21 at the Hungarian Culture House in Moscow at 19:00. We will discuss the Hungarian graphic design scene, explore the works of featured artists, and uncover the themes that shape this visual tradition.
