Devouring dictionaries is a great way to enrich your vocabulary, but it is necessary to remember that language consists of idiomatic expressions, which aren't listed in the dictionaries most of the time.

❤️ (To be) the apple of one's eye. Love is not always about romantic feelings, sometimes it is just admiration and pride.
– Her son is the apple of her eye, he is so talented and hardworking.
And finally, love makes the world go round. The saying means that love is a principle force that runs the world. When people treat each other lovingly, life gets better. So, be kind to others, will you? ❤️
