Case Clarification N1

There was such a question about the case, there is a link to the EU Best Practices dated from 15/12/2023 in Appendix 2. However, we had an update to this document on July 3, 2024, just as part of the control test. https://www.akingump.com/en/insights/alerts/eu-publishes-new-best-practices-guidance-including-updated-ownership-test-and-additional-control-guidance

Should we ignore that the case contains a link to the old version and use the new one?

Answer: please use the new version of the EU Best Practices.

🎩 Dear colleagues, we are thrilled to share that we have established an informational partnership with the Tashkent International Arbitration Centre (TIAC)!

This collaboration comes at a pivotal moment as we gear up for our upcoming legal competition focused on international investment arbitration in the context of sanctions.

⚖️ TIAC, nominated for the 'Best Innovation' award for its TIAC-HKIAC Cross-Institutional Rules, has experienced a threefold increase in administered cases, reflecting its expanding global reach with the involvement of non-resident parties. As noted in a recent GAR article, TIAC roster includes leading arbitrators from around the world, and its strict 'no conflict of interest' policy exceeds the IBA guidelines.

We believe this partnership will significantly enhance the quality and impact of the competition, fostering a deeper understanding of international arbitration practices among all participants.

Together with TIAC, we look forward to promoting knowledge sharing and supporting the development of future legal professionals in the field of international investment arbitration. Let’s create an enriching environment that encourages innovative thinking and practical solutions to contemporary challenges!
