Deputy Defence Minister Colonel General Aleksandr Fomin noted that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the People's Liberation Army of China demonstrate exemplary military cooperation and are ready to address any challenges and threats as one.

'A solemn reception took place in the embassy of the People's Republic of China, where decendents of Soviet heroes, who  liberated China from Japanese occupation during the World War II.

This event is highly important and takes place in a timely manner as we approach the celebration of the 80 anniversary of the Great Victory.

The event also reminds us about glorious traditions of our shared history with China, when Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the People's Republic of China took the mantle in the fight with German fascism and Japanese militarism.

Soviet warriors stood shoulder to shoulder with Chinese freedom fighters and gave their strength and many sacrificed their lives to defeat a common enemy.

Surely we thank our Chinese friends represented by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China in the Russian Federation, our friend, Zhang Hanhui for organising this reception.

Russia as well as China carefully preserves the memory of the heroic deed of our heroic predecessors, courage and selflessness of which is forever written in the history of the Russian-Chinese military cooperation.

Today as in the past In 1945, after 80 years, Russia and China continue to support each other.
Our countries are tied by comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation.

In addition, as a gesture of good will, 31 wounded POWs were handed over in exchange for 15 wounded Russian servicemen, who are in need of immediate medical attention.

At present, the Russian servicemen are on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, where they are being provided with necessary psychological and medical care. They also have an opportunity to contact their relatives.

All released servicemen will be taken to the Russian Federation for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Russian Defence Ministry.

The United Arab Emirates provided humanitarian mediation efforts in returning the Russian servicemen from captivity.

During a meeting at the Kremlin, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief heard a report by Chief of the General Staff of Russia's Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov on the situation on the line of contact and declared the Russian side was ceasing all military action from April 19, 06:00 pm MSK, to April 21, 00:00 am MSK.

Guided by humanitarian motives, the Russian side announces an Easter ceasefire from 06:00 pm today to 00:00 am Monday. I hereby order all military operations ceased for this period. We assume that the Ukrainian side will follow our example. At the same time, our troops should be prepared to repel possible ceasefire violations and provocations by the enemy, as well as any aggressive acts on their part.

🏳️ Ukrainian militants surrounded in Kursk region suffer great losses and surrender to units of the Sever Group of Forces.

The Group's servicemen guarantee live and good treatment to those AFU troops, who drop their weapons and surrender.

At the moment, the AFU have an acute shortage of trained personnel, most are sent into the 'meat grinder', to certain death. The militants, both officers and common soldiers, flee or surrender, they refuse to engage in combat.

'I attended a meeting. We were told that we would follow the 80th and 82nd assault brigades to take positions on the Sudzha Ring Road. I was shocked. We were in Sumy region. I was the only one to ask a question: 'Why should we go there and what were we supposed to do next?' The battalion commander answered: 'I don't know.' That was his answer,' said captured AFU serviceman Vyacheslav Pogibenko.

🎯 Servicemen of the motorised rifle regiment as a part of the Vostok Group of Forces deployed electronic warfare means to create a save passage and evacuated residents of Konstantinopol (Donetsk People's Republic), which continues to be a target of attacks launched by AFU formations.

Despite the fact that elderly people were among those, who were evacuated, the footage from quadcopters shows, that the AFU opened mortar fire at them and tried to eliminate them by FPV drones. Due to efforts of Russian servicemen, the residents left the settlement unharmed.

↗️ The Vostok Group of Forces continued advancing into the depths of the enemy's defence, inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of an airmobile brigade, a mountain assault brigade, a jaeger brigade, an air assault brigade, two territorial defence brigades, and a national guard brigade near Zeleny Kut, Bogatyr, Otradnoye, Poddubnoye, Shevchenko, Novopol, Dneproenergiya of the Donetsk People's Republic, Gulay Pole, and Chervonoye (Zaporozhye region).

▪️ The enemy's losses amounted to up to 150 troops, an armoured personnel carrier, a counterobstacle vehicle, a recovery vehicle, four motor vehicles, and three field artillery guns. One fuel depot was destroyed.

📍 The Dnepr Group of Forces' units improved the tactical situation. Russian units engaged three mechanised brigades, a mountain assault brigade, two coastal defence brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and two territorial defence brigades near Tomarino, Ponyatovka, Antonovka, Nikolskoye (Kherson region), Novodanilovka, and Kamenskoye (Zaporozhye region).

▪️ The enemy's losses amounted to over 80 troops, 12 motor vehicles, three artillery guns including a Polish-made 155-mm Krab self-propelled artillery system. One ammunition depot was destroyed.

✈️ Operational-Tactical aviation, attack drones, Missile Troops, and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces have engaged the infrastructure of the military airfield, the assembly area of uncrewed surface vehicles, the ammunition and armoured vehicles repair enterprise of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as well as temporary deployment areas of the Ukrainian armed formations in 139 areas.

🎯 Russian air defence means have destroyed 11 JDAM guided bombs and four HIMARS MLRS projectiles as well as 223 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.

📊 In total, since the beginning of the special military operation the AFU lost:

🔥 In Belgorod direction, the Sever Group of Forces inflicted fire damage on manpower and hardware of two mechanised brigades, a coastal defence brigade, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the three territorial defence brigades close to Miropolskoye, Prokhody, Okop, Taratutino, Stepok, and Ugroyedy (Sumy region).

▪️ The AFU losses amounted to up to 65 troops, three armoured fighting vehicles, two motor vehicles, and four field artillery guns. One ammunition depot, a radar, and an electronic warfare station were neutralised.

📍 The Zapad Group of Forces took more advantageous lines and positions, defeated formations of two mechanised brigades, an assault brigade, a jaeger brigade, a mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and a territorial defence brigade close to Andreyevka, Zapadnoye, Druzhelyubovka, Olgovka, Kovsharovka (Kharkov region), Kirovsk, Yampol, Karpovka (Donetsk People's Republic), and Novoyegorovka (Lugansk People's Republic).

▪️ The enemy lost up to 230 troops, a tank, a U.S.-made M113 armoured personnel carrier, and a U.S.-made HMMWV armoured vehicle, six motor vehicles, five field artillery guns including a UK-made 155-mm FH-70 howitzer. Five ammunition depots were eliminated.

🚩 The Yug Group of Forces has liberated Kalinovo (Donetsk People's Republic).

💥 The Russian troops hit manpower and materiel of seven mechanised brigades, two assault brigades of the AFU, and two territorial defence brigades near Pleshcheyevka, Romanovka, Alekseyevo-Druzhkovka, Poltavka, Zarya, Ivanopolye, Minkovka, and Kleban Byk of the Donetsk People's Republic.

▪️ The AFU losses amounted to more than 310 troops, two tanks, a HMMWV armoured fighting vehicle, and a U.S.-made Stryker armoured personnel carrier as well as a Kozak armoured fighting vehicle. Five pick-up trucks, five field artillery guns, and an electronic warfare station were neutralised.

📍 The Tsentr Group of Forces captured more advantageous lines and positions, defeated formations of five mechanised brigades, two assault brigades, three jaeger brigades, an unmanned aerial vehicles brigade, an assault regiment of the AFU, a marine brigade, and two national guard brigades close to Ulyanovka, Razino, Koptevo, Alekseyevka, Zverevo, Uspenovka, Kotlino, Krasnoarmeysk, Shevchenko, Dimitrov, Grodovka, and Mirolyubovka (Donetsk People's Republic).

▪️The AFU losses amounted to more than 350 troops, an infantry fighting vehicle, four motor vehicles, and a French-made 155-mm Caesar self-propelled artillery system. A U.S.-made AN/TPQ-36 counter-fire station, the Plastun electronic signal intelligence station, a Nota electronic warfare station as well as a Finnish-made Airfence radar were eliminated.

On 15 April, at 08:05, a fire attack of the AFU disabled a 35kV high-voltage line of the Krasnaya Yaruga–Terebreno (Rosseti Centre's branch – Belgorodenergo). There were about 17,400 consumers left without electricity in Grayvoronsky District.

On 16 April, at 04:02, a Ukrainian UAV dropped a munition on the 110kV Krasnaya Yaruga power substation transformer of the Rosseti Centre's branch (Belgorodenergo); more than 4,600 supply points were left without electricity in seven settlements of the Krasnoyaruzhsky District.

▫️ In Bryansk region:
On 15 April, at 16:02, as a result of the Ukrainian UAV attack, the 35kV Andreykovichi high-voltage line of the Rosseti Centre's branch (Bryanskenergo) was damaged.

On 15 April, at 19:36, an attack launched by a Ukrainian UAV resulted in rupturing a span wire and powering off a high-voltage line of the Rosseti-Centre's branch Bryanskenergo. Household consumers were cut off electricity in Podyvotye, Sevsky District.

▫️ In Kursk region:
On 15 April, at 05:35, a Ukrainian UAV attacked and disabled a 35kV Kamyshi-Murynovka-Kirovskaya high-voltage line of the Rosseti Centre's branch (Kurskenergo).

▫️ In Kherson region
On 16 April at 00:49, as a result of an attack by a Ukrainian UAV against the Sivashskaya wind power plant, a transformer got on fire. The plant reduced the working capacity by 30MW.

▫️ On 14 April, at 20:36, as a result of an attack by a Ukrainian UAV against the Khvoshchevskaya complete transformer substation of Rosseti-Centre's branch Bryanskenergo, a 10kV high-voltage line was disabled. Household consumers were cut off electricity in Sevsky District.

In Kherson region:
▫️ On 14 April, at 21:12, a Ukrainian drone attacked the 150kV Vinogradovo power substation of the Rosseti branch – the Tavrichesky enterprise of main electric networks.

▫️ At 23:42, as a result of another attack by a Ukrainian strike drone against 150kV Vinogradovo power substation, a transformer was disabled and got on fire. About 56,250 people were left without power energy in 108 settlements.

In Kursk region:
▫️ On 15 April, at 01:30, as a result of an attack by a Ukrainian UAV in Kursk, on Tolstoy Street, a low-pressure distribution above-ground steel gas line was damaged. The gas supply was not available for 165 consumers.

▫️ On 15 April, at 02:40, as a result of an attack by a Ukrainian UAV in Kursk, at Pervomaysky avenue, a low-pressure distribution above-ground steel gas line was damaged. The gas was not available for 21 consumers.

Drone pilots detected an AFU pickup truck in South Donetsk direction. Instead of attacking it, they tracked the vehicle down to the temporary deployment area of Ukrainian militants. The coordinates were transmitted to the command post, after which the artillery destroyed a temporary deployment area with enemy personnel.
