Is America more innovative or better at research than it was 25 years ago? Just the opposite: Universities have fat endowments and thousands of highly-paid administrators, but their actual work is less impressive by the day.

Not only that, but campuses have embraced ideological poisons like DEI and critical race theory that are a death sentence for authentic science. And of course, every year brings another 4-5% hike in tuition.

JUST IN: A U.S. judge on Friday denied Sean "Diddy" Combs' bid to delay his upcoming sex-trafficking trial by two months.

U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian said the hip-hop mogul made his request too close to his trial. Jury selection is currently scheduled to start on May 5, with opening statements on May 12.

🔥Following a Washington Examiner report, the House Oversight Committee launched an investigation into the Biden administration’s partnership with a Chinese Communist Party-linked nonprofit organization that helped manage land adjacent to military sites, according to a letter sent to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Thursday.

The investigation came after the Washington Examiner found that the Nature Conservancy, a U.S.-based environmental nonprofit organization, maintains a Chinese branch where former members of the Chinese government and current affiliates of the CCP hold senior leadership positions. The House Oversight Committee found that the Nature Conservancy is involved in a federal program allowing it to help manage land near 34 military installations, including major bases such as Fort Knox and Camp Pendleton.

The Oversight Committee expressed worry that the Chinese government could compel the Nature Conservancy to provide it with sensitive information about U.S. military sites, a threat it said is “not without precedent.”

Former top Pentagon spokesperson John Ullyot said on Wednesday night he'll resign at the end of the week, per a statement to Politico.

Ullyot's announcement comes in a week when the Pentagon reportedly placed three politically appointed senior aides to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on administrative leave in an investigation into leaks.

The Pentagon has also faced scrutiny in recent weeks over The Atlantic's editor-in-chief being inadvertently added to a Signal group chat planning U.S. strikes in Yemen and the removal of Defense Department webpages deemed linked to diversity, equity, and inclusion, which Ullyot defended.

He held senior roles in the first Trump administration and was acting assistant to the secretary of defense for public affairs until Sean Parnell was named the Pentagon's chief spokesperson in February and assumed the role.

"I made clear to Secretary Hegseth before the inauguration that I was not interested in being number two to anyone in public affairs," Ullyot told Politico.

He said he'd offered to assist in an acting role for two months.

An IRS whistleblower who testified publicly about investigations into Hunter Biden’s taxes is expected to be promoted to IRS acting commissioner, two sources familiar with the plan tell The Associated Press.

Gary Shapley, an IRS employee who testified to Congress as Republicans reviewed the business dealings of Joe Biden’s son, said he was retaliated against for cooperating in the investigations.

In March, Shapley was promoted to Deputy Chief of IRS Criminal Investigations, and another IRS investigator who testified about Biden’s taxes, Joseph Ziegler, was assigned to the Treasury Secretary’s office as a senior adviser for IRS reform.

Now, the tax collection agency is planning to name Shapley to one of the highest-ranking roles at the agency — in an interim role — as former Missouri congressman Billy Long awaits a confirmation hearing to lead the agency permanently, the people say. They were not authorized to speak publicly about the plan.

Karmelo Anthony — who is charged with murder after the fatal stabbing of fellow teen Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas — is allegedly living in a $900,000 home in a gated community after being released from jail on a reduced $250,000 bond.

Anthony, 17, is reportedly living with his family at the expensive home in the community of Richwoods, where the rent is estimated to be $3,500 a month, the Daily Mail reported. The home had a white Suburban, a black Acura, and a sedan in the driveway as of Tuesday.

A neighbor told the outlet the family had just bought a new car. Neighbors seemed to be initially unaware Anthony and his family are living in the neighborhood and are now voicing concerns.

Another neighbor told the outlet Antony’s family is clearly “not poor” if they can afford go live in the community, yet the family established a GiveSendGo.com fundraiser for legal fees and previously said on the page that “the narrative being spread is false, unjust, and harmful.”

ICYMI: AG Letitia James was hit with mortgage fraud charges yesterday, the very same charges she accused President Trump of. Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley told Fox News host Laura Ingraham the irony of James getting accused of falsifying records is "perfectly crushing."

FHFA Director William Pulte said in a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi that James appears to have falsified records to meet certain lending requirements and receive favorable loan terms.

Pulte cited a property in Virginia that James allegedly claimed as her principal residence and a property in New York she claimed as a four-unit structure instead of five, which he said could mean she was able to get a different and more favorable loan.

In response, a spokesperson for James' office said Wednesday morning that she has been "focused every single day on protecting New Yorkers, especially as this administration weaponizes the federal government against the rule of law and the Constitution. She will not be intimidated by bullies — no matter who they are." 🥴

Turley explained the Trump administration is saying this was not her principal residence because, as a New York elected official, she has to say her principal residence is in New York.
