They say Let It Go
And you end up mastering the the art of pretending to Let Go
But wait
Aren't we all pretending to let go of something we wanted to hold forever
You say you love adulting but you sit alone flipping through the old albums reminiscing the days that slipped away
You say it's just a college but the half torn poster of that dream college of yours is still there in your room mourning your failure each day
You say you don't want him back anymore but every shooting star heard you wish for him To have him back for one last time ,To stare into his eyes for one last time , seeking the last bit of love
You say you want your circle to be small but you miss laughing at the old inside jokes wondering if they still kept your friendship bands
You say death is a part of life but you get mad everytime you realise you won't be able to hear their voice anymore ,mad at life for their early departure
You roll your eyes saying you don't care but didn't those eyes stay up shedding tears last night ,tears from our past love ,tears from our broken dreams ,tears from people we lost
What are we hiding under the cover of pretence
Who are we hiding it from
The world? People? Or ourselves?
