Describe an incident when you lost something in a public place.
You should say:
– what you lost
– where and when it happened
– what you did to try to find it
– and explain how you felt about the experience

💡 Помните:
В IELTS Speaking Part 2 структура — ключ к успеху. У вас всегда должен быть:
* естественный ввод,
* логически выстроенное основное содержание,
* и заключение, которое подводит итог.

❌ Не начинайте с клише вроде: *"I'm going to speak about how I lost my handbag at the zoo."*

✅ Вместо этого сделайте вступление живым и персонализированным, дайте контекст, покажите эмоции, используйте лексику, связанную с темой.

Также важно:
* покрыть все пункты карточки;
* использовать сложные грамматические конструкции (например: *"Had I not…", "To make matters worse", "what made it even harder was..."*);
* включать лексические идиомы (*a sinking feeling, my heart was in my mouth, safe and sound*).

🗣️ Модельный ответ (Band 9.0):

Well, I'm someone who's generally very mindful of my belongings. I always double-check my pockets, bag, and surroundings before leaving any place. So losing something isn't something that happens to me often. But there was one unforgettable incident that really shook me.

It happened around two years ago when I visited the National Zoo in my hometown with a few close friends. After strolling around for a couple of hours, we decided to take a break and have some snacks. We found a bench in a shaded area and sat down to relax. I remember feeling quite at ease — perhaps a bit too relaxed — and at some point, the strap of my handbag must've slipped off my shoulder without me noticing.

To make matters worse, I only realised it was missing about fifteen minutes later, as we were heading toward the bird sanctuary. The moment I looked down and saw that my bag was gone, I had a sinking feeling in my stomach. I turned pale and rushed back to the bench, hoping it would still be there. But unfortunately, it was already gone.

Panic set in because my passport, credit cards, and some cash were all inside. Just the thought of losing such important documents was overwhelming. I kept telling myself to stay calm, but inside I was terrified.

Luckily, a woman approached me and gently asked if I was searching for a handbag. When I said yes, she asked me to describe it. I gave a detailed description — the colour, size, and even a small pin I had on the strap. She nodded and told me she had handed it over to the security desk. I was beyond relieved.

When I got to the security post, seeing my bag safe and sound was honestly one of the best moments of that day. I thanked both the lady and the staff profusely.

Reflecting on the experience, I'd say it was a rollercoaster of emotions — from carelessness to panic to deep gratitude. And more importantly, it taught me a valuable lesson: never let your guard down, even in the most relaxing environments.

🔍 Почему это Band 9.0?
* Использована сложная лексика (*a sinking feeling, safe and sound, overwhelming*);
* Многообразие грамматических структур: условные конструкции, инверсии, сложноподчинённые предложения;
* Эмоциональность и личностная вовлечённость — вы полностью верите рассказчику.
