Instagram is removing the option to add text notes to feed posts and Reels as part of a broader effort to simplify the app. Although notes were initially successful in DMs, they didn't gain significant traction when expanded to feed posts and Reels.

Instagram’s chief, Adam Mosseri, explained that the feature wasn’t widely adopted and that the app is focusing on cutting underused features to reduce clutter. Notes will still be available in DMs, but the feature will soon be removed from other areas to streamline the app.
