👤 Today, on the eve of the holy holiday of Easter, one of the largest prisoner exchanges took place. As a result of the negotiation process by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, on behalf of the President of Ukraine, 277 Ukrainian Defenders were released from Muscovite captivity.
Of these:
246 soldiers returned as part of the exchange,
31 – released during special events outside of exchanges.
🗒 Among those released today are Defenders from the Mariupol garrison, National Guardsmen, military sailors, soldiers of the Territorial Defense Unit, the State Special Transport Service, the Airborne Assault Forces, and the Unmanned Systems Forces.
📍 The defenders defended Ukraine in the following regions:
🛑 Donetsk region;
🛑 Luhansk region;
🛑 Zaporizhzhia;
🛑 Kherson region;
🛑 Mariupol city
🫂 Among those released are 268 privates and sergeants and 9 officers.
👥 Those returned from captivity have health problems, serious injuries and traumas. In their homeland, they will receive proper medical care, undergo physical and psychological rehabilitation, and also receive one-time financial assistance and appropriate payments for the entire time they were in captivity.
ℹ️ The current exchange is the fourth this year and the 63rd since the start of the full-scale invasion.
This year alone, 596 Ukrainians were able to return home from Muscovite captivity as part of exchanges, and 53 Defenders were released outside of exchanges.
🔄 We express our gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for their assistance in organizing the exchange.
