Clashes near Zhovtny: police deny detaining protesters against LGBT film festival

"No one is detaining anyone, simply because protesters have gathered against this film festival, suspicious people are being invited to the police station to establish all the circumstances and their identity," Natalia Krot, a press officer for the Podilskyi Department of the National Police in Kyiv, told Radio Liberty.

A representative of the National Police confirmed that police officers are maintaining order near the cinema, and materials are being prepared against protest participants in case of violations. Currently, according to her, no such violations have been recorded at the rallies. Police will be on duty near the "October" throughout the film festival, which lasts until April 25. She also noted that enhanced security measures continue through the Easter holidays.
