Overall, unemployment among people aged 15-24 was generally higher than overall unemployment in all countries, with the gap being more noticeable in Poland, Italy, and Hungary than in Denmark and especially Germany. Poland had the highest unemployment rate and Denmark the lowest, while Italy, Hungary, and Germany showed comparable numbers.
Look at the unemployment figures for young adults, Poland showed the greatest percentages of jobless people aged 15-24 in 2005 at 37%, considerably higher than in Italy (28%). While Hungary and Germany exhibited similar numbers, at 24% and 23% respectively, Denmark had only 13% of young people without jobs.
Overall unemployment levels followed similar patterns, with Poland heading the list again with 27% jobless people and Denmark boasting the lowest unemployment rates at around 7%. Though Germany represented the second highest in this category (at 20%), the figures for Italy and Hungary were almost identical, with the former at 15% and the latter at 12%.
