The great and the only Tashi Dorji (guitar) at Farmhouse on 5 May!

Tashi Dorji is a Bhutanese guitarist and improvisational musician known for his avant-garde and experimental (read: deeply gnarly, finely arty) approach to music. Tashi’s idiosyncratic take on the instrument, one defined by movement and profound openness to technique, adds up to a post-colonial disembowlment of guitar traditions that stands Tashi next de- and re-constructionist giants as various as Derek Bailey, John Fahey and Bill Orcutt.

Support Farmhouse – Keep Experimental Music Alive in Zurich!

We need your help! Unfortunately, we were unable to secure cultural funding, putting the future of Farmhouse at risk. To continue our work, we need to raise 8,000 CHF, and we’ve launched a campaign to make it happen.

What is Farmhouse?

At the end of 2024, we founded Farmhouse, a space dedicated to experimental and extreme music, located on the 5th floor of Zentralwäscherei.

After just three events, over 50 international and local musicians have reached out, eager for a platform to perform. This overwhelming response confirms the urgent need for more independent spaces supporting experimental music in Zurich.

Why We Need Your Support

We already have 8 events planned for 2025, but we can’t make them happen without your help. Since we did not receive cultural funding, we now rely entirely on our community to keep Farmhouse alive. Your contribution will allow us to:

- Sustain and grow Farmhouse as a vital hub for experimental music.
- Continue hosting events and cover essential expenses, including artist fees.
