BREAKING: Israeli jets just broke the sound barrier with two loud blasts heard over the Lebanese capital Beirut, the first time I’ve heard them since the ceasefire in November. Similar blasts were also heard in Bekaa in the east.
It comes as Israel is reportedly demanding the ceasefire is extended again until February 28th and will continue its occupation of a number of settlements in the south of the county.
The blasts are clearly part of its psychological war against the Lebanese people and a warning to the government to agree to the extension of the ceasefire, something it has said is out of the question.
