❗️Next week in London, parties aim to agree on terms for a full and comprehensive ceasefire, The New York Post reports, citing a senior official in the Trump administration.
“After that, we plan to hold [talks] with the Russians and say: ‘Here is your best and final offer,’ to understand both sides’ positions. And only then will the next steps be determined,” the official said.
The official also stated that Trump is ready to walk away from negotiations without Moscow’s consent, placing responsibility for the conflict on America’s European allies.
According to this source, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umerov told U.S. officials that Kyiv “90% supports” President Trump’s peace plan, which was presented in Paris this week by the Secretary of State and two special envoys.
▪️According to Bloomberg, during the Paris meetings, the U.S. presented allies with a proposal for resolving the war in Ukraine. The plan outlines conditions for ending hostilities and easing sanctions on Russia. The deal would effectively freeze the war, with Russian-occupied territories remaining under Moscow’s control, sources say.
▪️The outlet also reported that the U.S. is willing to recognize Crimea as Russian as part of a future peace deal. However, President Zelensky has consistently reiterated that Ukraine will never recognize any of its occupied territories as Russian.
