Servicemen of Vostok Group of Forces' 36th Separate Guards Motorised Rifle Brigade celebrate Easter holiday in special military operation zone.

On the eve of the Easter day, military cooks and bakers of a formation made some cakes. Soldiers used both traditional and family recipes, which were passed down through generations.

There were two shifts to provide holiday kits for all units.
Ready cakes and eggs were consecrated by an assistant who worked with religious servicemen and immediately were transferred to combat positions. Even in conditions of complex logistics, holiday kits reached every soldier including the most remote spots. For many soldiers, the Easter holiday has become a symbol of communication with home and hope of a soon return.

🕯 Easter service was held in a field trench church in the special military operation zone, attended by the tank army command and faithful servicemen of the Zapad Group of Forces.

📄 The train is a unique mobile museum. It consists of eight thematic carriages with expositions, presenting not only models of equipment during the Great Patriotic War – tanks, howitzers, and guns – but also modern weapons. Among the exhibits are declassified archive documents from the Great Patriotic War, from which the residents of Kaluga region learned more about their heroic ancestors.

🫡 It consists of four railway platforms containing samples of trophy equipment captured by Russian troops during the special military operation. These include U.S.-made M113 and International MaxxPro armoured personnel carriers, one Turkish-made Kirpi, one Canadian-made Roshel Senator, and one U.S.-made Cougar armoured vehicles.

📍 The Dnepr Group of Forces' units improved the tactical situation. Russian troops hit formations of an artillery brigade of the AFU and one territorial defence brigade close to Novoyakovlevka and Stepnogorsk (Zaporozhye region).

▪️ The AFU losses were over 100 troops, one tank, five motor vehicles, four electronic warfare stations, and one ammunition depot.

✈️ Operational-Tactical Aviation, attack unmanned aerial vehicles, and Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces engaged AFU temporary deployment areas in 87 areas.

🎯 Air defence facilities shot down three JDAM guided bombs, one U.S.-made HIMARS MLRS projectile as well as 88 fixed-wing UAVs.

⚡️In accordance with the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, all the Groups of Forces deployed in the special military operation zone have been strictly observing the state of ceasefire since 18:00 of 19 April remaining in previously taken positions.

❗️ At night, despite the announcement of the Easter ceasefire, formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted to launch attacks against positions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation near Sukhaya Balka and Bogatyr (Donetsk People's Republic). The attacks were repelled.

▪️ What is more, during the night, the enemy launched 48 fixed-wing UAVs, including one over Crimea. Ukrainian troops hit Russian positions with guns and mortars 444 times, carried out 900 quadcopter-type drone strikes, and dropped ammunition on border areas of Bryansk, Kursk, and Belgorod regions (12 fire attacks, 33 UAV strikes, and seven ammunition drops). As a result, enemy attacks caused deaths and injuries among the civilian population. The AFU damaged civilian facilities.

On the eve of the holiday, military priests visited the churches built under the ground by Novorossiysk and Ulyanovsk paratroopers in Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Servicemen received Easter cakes, the consecration of which began on the Great Saturday.

The icon was delivered to the Group and will be at forward positions. The transfer took place at the Saur-Mogila memorial complex in the Donetsk People’s Republic. After that, a prayer with communion services for military personnel were held in a trench church of the unit.

The icon with the image of the Savior Not Made by Hands will become the military image of the Group. It will be transported to the front-line units for moral support of setvicemen.

'A solemn reception took place in the embassy of the People's Republic of China, where decendents of Soviet heroes, who  liberated China from Japanese occupation during the World War II.

This event is highly important and takes place in a timely manner as we approach the celebration of the 80 anniversary of the Great Victory.

The event also reminds us about glorious traditions of our shared history with China, when Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the People's Republic of China took the mantle in the fight with German fascism and Japanese militarism.

Soviet warriors stood shoulder to shoulder with Chinese freedom fighters and gave their strength and many sacrificed their lives to defeat a common enemy.

Surely we thank our Chinese friends represented by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China in the Russian Federation, our friend, Zhang Hanhui for organising this reception.

Russia as well as China carefully preserves the memory of the heroic deed of our heroic predecessors, courage and selflessness of which is forever written in the history of the Russian-Chinese military cooperation.

⚡️ On 19 April, as a result of the negotiation process, 246 Russian servicemen were returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime.

In exchange, 246 Ukrainian POWs were handed over.

In addition, as a gesture of good will, 31 wounded POWs were handed over in exchange for 15 wounded Russian servicemen, who are in need of immediate medical attention.

At present, the Russian servicemen are on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, where they are being provided with necessary psychological and medical care. They also have an opportunity to contact their relatives.

All released servicemen will be taken to the Russian Federation for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Russian Defence Ministry.

The United Arab Emirates provided humanitarian mediation efforts in returning the Russian servicemen from captivity.

During a meeting at the Kremlin, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief heard a report by Chief of the General Staff of Russia's Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov on the situation on the line of contact and declared the Russian side was ceasing all military action from April 19, 06:00 pm MSK, to April 21, 00:00 am MSK.

Guided by humanitarian motives, the Russian side announces an Easter ceasefire from 06:00 pm today to 00:00 am Monday. I hereby order all military operations ceased for this period. We assume that the Ukrainian side will follow our example. At the same time, our troops should be prepared to repel possible ceasefire violations and provocations by the enemy, as well as any aggressive acts on their part.
