🇻🇪🇻🇪⛓📰 — Nicolás Maduro's regime increases censorship levels: a journalist reported a 33% rise in thefts in Caracas, and shortly after, she and her husband were arrested; both have been missing since then

➡️ Journalist Nakary Mena Ramos, a reporter for the digital news outlet Impacto Venezuela, was arrested along with her husband, cameraman Gianni González, and formally charged by the Chavista regime with the crimes of “incitement to hatred” and “spreading false news.” Their arrest came shortly after the release of a report on the rise in thefts in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas — a topic that the regime has downplayed, continuing to insist that crime has decreased in recent years.

➡️ According to available information, Nakary Mena Ramos was transferred to a women’s prison in the state of Miranda, while González remains held in a jail near the capital. The current health conditions and confirmed locations of both remain unknown, as the available reports are outdated.

💬 Diosdado Cabello, widely seen as the regime’s “number two,” criticized the posting of videos about crime on social media, claiming that all presented data is false. “This is a campaign to make people afraid,” he stated, suggesting these publications aim to link the return of Venezuelans deported from the United States with a rise in crime. “You can’t instill fear in the population again,” he added.

🇧🇷👨‍⚖⚖️⁉️📹 — In an unprecedented move, Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes stated that Filipe Martins may be imprisoned if filmed by third parties during his own trial or while traveling to Brasília—effectively redefining what is considered digital censorship

📝 “All other precautionary measures remain in effect, with emphasis once again that no images of the trial or his transfer shall be taken or disclosed, even by third parties, under penalty of a fine and immediate conversion into imprisonment, pursuant to Article 312, §1 of the Brazilian Code of Criminal Procedure,” Moraes stated.

❗️ Martins’ defense team said they are still assessing whether he will attend the trial following the ruling. They argue that such restrictions could endanger the former special advisor to Jair Bolsonaro, since anyone could potentially target him under these conditions.

👺 Many defense teams, political groups, and legal representatives have argued that Filipe Martins could appear wearing a mask or in disguise. The suggested disguises included: the Joker, Batman, Omni-Man, Spider-Man, or simply a regular mask.

🇧🇷😎🇻🇦 — The former president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), mourned the death of Pope Francis; the conservative leader stated that the pontiff was one of the most symbolic figures of the Christian faith:

➡️ The world and Catholics bid farewell to one of the most symbolic figures of the Christian faith: the Pope. More than a religious leader, the papacy represents the continuity of a millenary tradition, a guardian of spiritual values that have shaped civilizations.

➡️ For Brazil and the world, the figure of the Pope has always been a symbol of unity, hope, and moral guidance. His passing invites us to reflect and renew our faith, reminding us of the power of spirituality as a compass in times of uncertainty.

🇻🇪🇻🇪🚫🇸🇻 — The Nicolás Maduro regime reacts furiously to Nayib Bukele’s proposal to exchange imprisoned Venezuelan criminals in CECOT for political prisoners: “It is a kidnapping and a concentration camp created by Bukele’s macabre mind"

📝 See full statement below:

"In response to the cynical statement made by President Nayib Bukele, in which he reaffirms that 252 Venezuelan citizens illegally deported from the United States are arbitrarily detained and in a condition of forced disappearance in a concentration camp of that country, we wish to denounce the following:

Bukele’s statement, who makes his worldwide debut in this way as the most faithful exponent of 21st-century neo-fascism, demonstrates that these citizens are kidnapped at the unilateral disposal of an individual outside the law who publicly and through the media declares to the planet that he tyrannically decides who may or may not enjoy life and freedom in El Salvador.

As we explained in a letter addressed to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, the treatment received by Venezuelans in the United States and El Salvador constitutes a serious violation of international human rights law and amounts to a crime against humanity that mimics the repugnant Nazi practices of the mid-20th century.

For this reason, I am now sending communications to the Attorney General of El Salvador and the Supreme Court of that country questioning them on:
a) What crimes have these Venezuelan citizens committed in El Salvador?
b) When were they presented before a judge?
c) Have they had access to a lawyer?
d) Have they been allowed to communicate with anyone since the moment of their detention?

As Attorney General of Venezuela, I immediately request the full list with identification of all those kidnapped and their judicial status, as well as proof of life and a medical report for each one.

The entire world should be appalled by the fact that CECOT is no longer a torture center created by Bukele’s macabre mind to punish criminals in his country, but rather a site of forced disappearance of innocent Venezuelans (according to arrangements with his imperial partners), whom, as an expert in human trafficking, he uses to receive millions of dollars in return.

What has been stated above demands that all international organizations call for the immediate release of our compatriots, who are now vilely kidnapped by a tyrant, and that they proceed to sanction this criminal conduct which violates the most sacred principles of international coexistence, justice, and peace."

🇸🇻❗️ 🇻🇪🇻🇪 — Nayib Bukele proposes a humanitarian exchange to Maduro: repatriate 252 Venezuelans detained in El Salvador in exchange for the release of 252 political prisoners from the Chavista regime, including key opposition figures

"Mr. Nicolás Maduro, you have said on numerous occasions that you want Venezuelans back and free.

Unlike you, who have political prisoners, we do not have political prisoners. All the Venezuelans we have in custody were detained as part of an operation against gangs such as the Tren de Aragua in the United States.

Unlike our detainees, many of whom have committed murders, others rapes, and some had even been arrested multiple times before being deported, your political prisoners have committed no crime. The only reason they are imprisoned is because they opposed you and your electoral fraud.

However, I want to propose a humanitarian agreement that contemplates the repatriation of 100% of the 252 Venezuelans who were deported, in exchange for the release and handover of an identical number (252) of the thousands of political prisoners you hold.

Among them, Rafael Tudares, son-in-law of Edmundo González; journalist Roland Carreño; lawyer and activist Rocío San Miguel; Mrs. Corina Parisca de Machado, mother of María Corina Machado, who is harassed daily and has her access to basic services like electricity and water sabotaged; as well as the four political leaders sheltered in the Argentine embassy and other Venezuelan political prisoners.

This would also include nearly 50 detained citizens of other nationalities: American, German, Dominican, Argentine, Bolivian, Israeli, Chilean, Colombian, Ecuadorian, Spanish, French, Guyanese, Dutch, Iranian, Italian, Lebanese, Mexican, Peruvian, Puerto Rican, Ukrainian, Uruguayan, Portuguese, and Czech.

Our Foreign Ministry will send the formal correspondence."

🇧🇷⚖️👨‍⚖❌🇬🇧📰 — The president of Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court (STF), Justice Luís Roberto Barroso, issued an official statement defending fellow Justice Alexandre de Moraes following criticisms from the British magazine The Economist

➡️ In the statement, Barroso emphasized that Moraes “fulfills his role with dedication and courage, with the support of the Court, not individually.”

💬 Responding to The Economist, Barroso also clarified that he never claimed the Court had “defeated Bolsonaro,” but rather that “the voters” had done so. He acknowledged having used the expression “we defeated Bolsonarism,” explaining that he was referring to the violent and anti-democratic extremism seen on January 8, 2023.

➡️ Barroso further stated that Brazil had faced coup attempts, terrorist plots, and conspiracies against President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Vice President Geraldo Alckmin. He argued that the STF acted independently to prevent the collapse of democratic institutions, “as occurred in other countries.”

➡️ In its editorial, The Economist had described Moraes as a “superstar judge” wielding “surprisingly broad powers,” primarily affecting the political right. The magazine highlighted his investigations into former president Jair Bolsonaro and misinformation campaigns, calling him one of the most influential judges in the world, and comparing him to justices of the U.S. Supreme Court.

🌐❌🇧🇷🤡 — 🇵🇪 The NGO Transparency International (TI) has criticized the Lula (PT) administration for granting diplomatic asylum to former Peruvian First Lady Nadine Heredia, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison for money laundering related to the Operation Car Wash scandal.

🇧🇷 Heredia, the wife of former President Ollanta Humala (2011–2016), arrived in Brazil with her 14-year-old son aboard a plane provided by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).

“By sheltering a person convicted of corruption crimes, Brazil sends a troubling signal of tolerance toward illicit practices that undermine democratic institutions and hinder the development of Latin American countries. The plea deal evidence from Odebrecht — the same evidence that supported the convictions of Heredia and Humala in Peru — was annulled in Brazil based on unfounded and never-proven allegations.

Unlike Brazil, the Peruvian judiciary did not fall for the rhetoric of ‘broken chain of custody’ regarding Odebrecht’s hard drives […] Had there been institutional will, Brazil could have done the same — but chose instead to bury this robust body of evidence,”

💥 Transparency International stated it is “extremely serious that the country is becoming a graveyard for the evidence of the largest transnational bribery scheme in history.”

🇪🇨⚠️ — Government of Ecuador denounces that criminal structures, with political support, are planning attacks and chaos after the elections. Maximum alert is activated, and the government promises to “bring every criminal to their knees”

💥 In government meetings, members of Daniel Noboa’s administration accuse countries like Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia, and Brazil of inciting criminal or political groups to trigger a chain reaction of public distrust in the government.

📝 Full statement:

"In light of intelligence information warning about the planning of an assassination, terrorist attacks, and street unrest through violent protests, the Ministry of Government alerts the public and the nation as follows:

We strongly condemn and repudiate any attempt to attack the life of the President of the Republic, state authorities, and public officials. It is deplorable that criminal structures, in collusion with political sectors defeated at the ballot box, intend to impose chaos through violence, fear, and terror.

These actions not only aim to destabilize the Government but also to undermine democracy, sovereignty, peace in Ecuador, and the rule of law. We will respond with full force; our resolve will be tested. Let them not forget: we prevail and will continue to prevail. With faith in God and the strength of the State, we will bring every criminal to their knees.

The State is on maximum alert. All security protocols have been activated, and the Armed Forces, National Police, and intelligence agencies are working in coordination to neutralize any threat.

🇧🇷🤡👮💥 — ⛓ Federal Police detain man accused of calling Lula a 'thief'; he will face charges of insult and had his identity recorded for further reference

🇧🇷 During an official visit to Rio de Janeiro, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) was reportedly insulted while his motorcade passed through BR-101 in Campos dos Goytacazes. According to the Federal Police (PF), a driver "pulled his car alongside the official vehicles" and shouted “thief” in reference to the head of state.

➡️ Initially, the security team considered the approach a potential threat. According to the government’s communication office, the short distance between the vehicles raised concern and prompted immediate action by the Federal Police. However, the behavior was later classified as an criminal insult, with no signs of a physical threat to the president.

💬 The Federal Police stated that the man was questioned and then released. His identity was not disclosed. He will face criminal charges for insult. This is not the first time someone has been detained for calling Lula a “thief.” In September 2022, a 50-year-old man was arrested in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, for using the same slur against the leftist leader.

🇵🇪⁉️🇧🇷 — 🌹 The Peruvian government claims that Brazil forced the country to accept the diplomatic asylum granted to former First Lady Nadine Heredia, wife of former President Ollanta Humala, who left Peru just hours after being sentenced to 15 years in prison for money laundering, partly involving funds from the construction company Odebrecht.

➡️ The Peruvian Foreign Minister stated that the decision was made in “strict compliance with Peru’s international obligations,” referring to the Convention on Diplomatic Asylum cited by Brazil, as well as Article 36 of the Peruvian Constitution, which recognizes political asylum and accepts the classification of asylum granted by the requesting State.

❗️ Schialer added that the Brazilian Embassy in Lima was “fully aware” of the court ruling that sentenced Heredia and her husband to 15 years in prison for receiving illicit contributions from Odebrecht for Humala’s 2011 presidential campaign and from the late Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chávez for his 2006 campaign.

🤡 However, he noted that “Brazil, as the requesting State, evaluated the situation and decided to grant asylum,” since the Convention grants the asylum-granting country “the final prerogative to classify the nature of the offense.”

🇧🇷👮⚖️ — 👨‍⚖ Messages obtained by the Federal Police in the investigation into expert Eduardo Tagliaferro, former advisor to Alexandre de Moraes at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), reveal that he feared being arrested by order of the minister—or even killed—if he publicly disclosed what he knew. In private conversations held last year with his wife, Tagliaferro expressed fear of his former boss

➡️ The conversations, from 2024, took place a year after Tagliaferro was dismissed from the position he held at the TSE. From August 2022 to May 2023, he headed the Special Advisory for Combating Disinformation (AEED). He was responsible for producing reports on politicians, activists, and media outlets that posted criticism or insults against Moraes, the TSE, or the Supreme Federal Court (STF) on social media.

💥 Messages published in August indicated that Moraes had pre-determined targets. At the time of their release, the minister stated that these individuals were already under investigation in the Supreme Court's fake news inquiry and that, as TSE president, he also had police powers to gather evidence against the suspects.

➡️ Hernández is the parish priest of the Santiago Apóstol Church in Jinotepe, in the department of Carazo, and in 2018, he was assaulted at the parish by paramilitaries loyal to Ortega. Molina stated that his case is the second of a priest being blocked from returning to Nicaragua during the current Lent.

❌ Additionally, as part of the persecution of Christians in the country, Ortega's dictatorship has banned enactments of the Passion of Christ for the third consecutive year. 🇧🇷🤝🇵🇪 — ✈️ URGENT: After an agreement between the President of Peru, Dina Boluarte, and the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Peru accepted to grant diplomatic asylum to former First Lady Nadine Heredia, who hours earlier was sentenced to 15 years in prison for money laundering

✔️ In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also informed that it issued a safe-conduct pass for Heredia so she could leave the country with her young son, in accordance with Articles V and XII of the 1954 Convention on Diplomatic Asylum, to which both countries are parties.

“The Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil requested the departure of the asylees, invoking Articles V and XII of the aforementioned convention, which states that the asylum-granting state can request the departure of the asylee to foreign territory, and the territorial state is obligated to immediately provide the necessary guarantees and corresponding safe-conduct, except in cases of force majeure. In this regard, in compliance with Articles V and XII, the Peruvian government has provided these guarantees for the transfer of both individuals and has granted the corresponding safe-conducts.”

⭐ Nadine Heredia has had well-known political ties with the Brazilian Workers' Party (PT), particularly in the past with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, whose party had close relations with the Peruvian political scene.

🇧🇷💬 — Andre Marsiglia on 𝕏:

➡️ Justice Moraes’ decision to block the extradition of a drug trafficker to Spain, following Spain’s refusal to extradite Eustáquio to Brazil, is mistaken. Here are some legal considerations:

➡️ Moraes’ ruling cites Article I of the Extradition Treaty between Brazil and Spain, which establishes a commitment to reciprocity between the countries. In other words, if Brazil extradites individuals to Spain, Spain must do the same for Brazil.

➡️ However, Moraes overlooks the fact that reciprocity does not apply without restrictions. One such restriction is when the offense is considered political by either country (Article IV, 1, f of the Treaty).

➡️ Spain deemed the crime Eustáquio is accused of to be political, and is therefore acting in accordance with the Treaty. Naturally, this decision by Spain is not something Moraes has the authority to question.

➡️ Unless the minister considers drug trafficking a political crime and uses that to justify halting the extradition, Moraes’ decision is incorrect, and it is Brazil that would be in violation of the Treaty. This is likely to be the response from Spain.

➡️ It seems that, beyond the United States, the Brazilian Supreme Court is now also heading for a clash with Spain.

🇧🇷⚖️👨‍⚖💥🇪🇸 — URGENT: As a form of retaliation, Brazilian Supreme Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes has suspended an extradition request presented by Spain for a Bulgarian drug trafficker imprisoned in Brazil

❗️ The decision follows the Spanish judiciary's rejection of the Brazilian government’s request to extradite journalist Oswaldo Eustáquio.

⁉️ The minister ordered that the Hungarian national be transferred from preventive detention to house arrest with electronic monitoring. Spain requested the extradition of Vasil Georgiev Vasilev based on the Brazil–Spain Extradition Treaty, enacted in 1990. He is accused of drug trafficking offenses committed in Spain in 2022.

📝 Moraes emphasized that both the treaty and the Brazilian Migration Law establish the principle of reciprocity. According to the justice, Spain’s refusal to extradite Eustáquio prevents Brazil from continuing with Vasilev’s extradition and constitutes a "violation of the reciprocity requirement" between the two countries.

⌛ To address the issue, Moraes granted the Spanish government, through its ambassador, a five-day deadline to submit information to the Court proving the reciprocity requirement, under penalty of having Vasilev’s extradition request denied.

🇪🇸⚖️❌🇧🇷⚖️ — ⛓ The Spanish judiciary has rejected Brazil’s request to extradite journalist Oswaldo Eustáquio, who has been considered a fugitive by Brazilian authorities since December 2022. A supporter of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), Eustáquio has been prosecuted in Brazil for alleged involvement in an attempted coup and for spreading false information and anti-democratic messages

👨‍⚖ Spain’s National Court deemed the extradition request “inadmissible,” citing that the conduct in question had “an evident political connection and motivation, as it was carried out within the framework of a series of collective actions by groups supporting Bolsonaro (…) and opposing the current president, Lula da Silva.”

📝 The Spanish judges emphasized that the charges were related to offenses that are “if not strictly political, at least legally defined as such, given that under our legal system there is no specific offense labeled this way, in which the conduct (…) does not primarily constitute a violation of common criminal law but rather pursues a primarily political objective.”

🇧🇷🤡💥🏛 — The government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) has launched an operation to pressure lawmakers from allied parties who signed the urgency request for the amnesty bill concerning those imprisoned for the January 8, 2023 events

❗️ At least 146 members of Congress could face retaliation from the government. They are among the 262 who signed the amnesty request but belong to parties that hold ministries within the current administration. Possible reprisals include delays or denial of budget amendment payments and reconsideration of political appointments or positions in their electoral bases.

💬 “Due to reports that the government is pressuring deputies to withdraw their signatures, I’ve changed strategy. I’m now filing the document publicly, and all the names of those who signed it will be made known. The government won’t catch us off guard again. In the face of the government’s cowardly pressure to withdraw support, I’ve moved the strategy forward,” said PL party leader in the Chamber of Deputies, Sóstenes Cavalcante (RJ).

⚠️ The government's efforts to undermine support for the amnesty bill are now focusing on centrist parties, which accounted for 146 of the signatures. União Brasil contributed 40, followed by Progressistas (35), Republicanos (28), PSD (23), and MDB (20). These five parties combined represent more than 55% of the support for the urgency motion.

🇧🇷🌹💥🖥 — The Brazilian Press Association (ABI) released an institutional letter in which it supports the regulation of digital platforms and so-called big techs, positioning itself as a defender of digital censorship

📝 The letter was published during the 3rd National Journalism Week, which aimed to “identify current problems and threats to journalism, communication, freedom of the press and expression, and democracy, and to propose ways to overcome these obstacles.” Throughout the letter, the organization expresses concern about the spread of disinformation and the concentration of power among technology companies.

⁉️ ABI argues that “social control of the media is an exercise of citizenship” and labels the regulation of big techs as “a democratic task.” According to the organization, “without it, democracy in Brazil will remain incomplete,” and it considers such regulation “a civilizing task.”

➡️ Another recurring theme is criticism of what ABI describes as the transformation of communication into a partisan tool. According to the association, “the transformation of the media into true ‘political parties,’ aligned with the most conservative sectors of society, is yet another challenge that must be confronted.”

🇺🇸🇺🇸💥🇧🇷👨‍⚖⚖️ — Jason Miller, one of U.S. President Donald Trump’s advisors, used his social media to criticize Alexandre de Moraes, Justice of the Brazilian Supreme Federal Court (STF), calling him a “threat to democracy”

The criticism followed Moraes' interview with the American magazine The New Yorker, in which he discussed the suspension of the social media platform Rumble for lacking a legal representative in Brazil. Moraes defended the measure and accused the so-called “far right” of labeling the act as “censorship.”

"Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes is the single greatest threat to democracy in the Western Hemisphere, and he thinks it’s funny:
'‘People are going to start saying I’m persecuting everyone now,’ he joked."

➡️ In 2021, Jason Miller was detained by Brazil’s Federal Police at the Brasília airport by order of Moraes after attending CPAC, a major conservative event in the country.

➡️ During the detention, Miller claimed he and his team were questioned for three hours without being charged with any crime. According to the police, they “just wanted to talk.” After the interrogation, Miller was released and allowed to return to the United States. He later compared Moraes to a “James Bond villain” in interviews.

➡️ Miller emphasized the power held by Brazilian justices, stating they can “issue subpoenas and order arrests.” His presence in Brazil at the time was to promote his social media platform, Gettr, at CPAC. He also met with then-president Jair Bolsonaro.

➡️ Miller’s detention was part of the STF-led “fake news” investigation. Despite the incident, he stated that his mission to promote free speech would continue.

🇧🇷⚖️💥🏛 — A Brazilian newspaper reported that justices of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) are allegedly acting politically to pressure the government into taking steps to undermine support for the Amnesty Bill (PL) aimed at those accused of participating in the January 8th events

🇧🇷 Federal Deputy Luciano Zucco (PL-RS), leader of the opposition in the Chamber of Deputies, described the situation using the words "attack" and "intimidation" against the legislative house that represents the people.

"What we are witnessing is an open attack on the independence of the Legislative Branch. It is unacceptable that STF justices are pressuring the government to directly interfere in the actions of deputies and senators who are merely exercising their legitimate right to legislate.

This is no longer an isolated issue — it is a very serious and unprecedented crisis between the branches of the Republic. The STF has crossed all limits by placing itself as a guardian of democracy, when in practice it has acted as a political player, promoting selective persecution, censorship, illegal arrests, and now, direct interference in legislative processes."

❗️ In the deputy’s assessment, "the separation of powers has become meaningless in the face of a Supreme Court that behaves as if it were above the Constitution."

"I want to make it clear: we, in the opposition, will not remain silent in the face of this authoritarian advance. We will not allow Congress to be turned into an annex of the Judiciary. Every parliamentarian here represents millions of Brazilians who demand respect for their voices and for popular sovereignty. And it is for them that we will stand firm. 🇻🇪🇻🇪 — ⚠️ The Perpetual Venezuelan Dictatorship: Nicolás Maduro has declared a state of economic emergency across Venezuela, initially set to last for 60 days, justifying the decision based on Donald Trump’s new tariff policy.

❗️ With this measure, Hugo Chávez’s successor will further expand his power, backed by the freedom granted through the decree to concentrate legislative powers over economic, political, and social matters, according to what the "head of the Executive deems appropriate"

➡️ During the national emergency period, Maduro will be able to create exceptional and temporary regulations to, in theory, “restore economic balance and protect the rights of the population” in response to the pressures imposed by Washington.

💥 The Chavista regime will also be able to suspend tax exemption policies and set a new minimum quota for domestic production to replace import demand. To enforce his decree, the regime may establish “extraordinary mechanisms” to combat tax evasion during this period.

🚫 The decree signed by Maduro authorizes the use of unilateral coercive, restrictive, and punitive measures against those who oppose the dictator’s agenda during this period—something that is not new to the current political situation in Venezuela.

🇪🇨❗️Polls Close in Ecuador’s Razor-Tight Presidential Runoff – Noboa Declared Winner

➡️ Noboa’s Victory: Incumbent President Daniel Noboa (37) secured reelection with 55.8% of votes, defeating leftist rival Luisa González (44.1%) in a runoff dominated by voter concerns over drug violence and economic crisis.

➡️ Fraud Allegations: González rejected the results, calling it “the worst electoral fraud in Ecuador’s history” and demanded a recount. Her mentor, exiled ex-President Rafael Correa, echoed claims of irregularities, though international observers dismissed fraud allegations.

➡️ Security Mandate: Noboa’s “iron fist” policies—including declaring an “internal armed conflict,” deploying troops, and building high-security prisons—drove his campaign. Homicides dropped from 46.18 to 38.76 per 100,000 under his rule, but Ecuador remains Latin America’s most violent nation.

➡️ Controversies:
- Noboa’s alliance with Erik Prince (Blackwater founder) and plans for U.S. military bases sparked backlash.
- A 60-day state of emergency was imposed pre-election, citing gang threats.
- Critics accuse his tactics of human rights abuses and authoritarianism.

➡️ Economic Turmoil: Voters also weighed 14-hour daily blackouts, 28% poverty, and a 1.5% GDP contraction. González promised Correa-era social programs, while Noboa pushed austerity.
